Depo-Provera
Depo-Provera, the brand name for medroxyprogesterone acetate, is an injectable contraceptive used roughly every three months. Depo-Provera is commonly used to treat hormonal and menstrual conditions.
In early 2024, the British Medical Journal published a study linking long-term use of Depo-Provera to an increased risk of developing meningiomas. The study found heightened risks of developing meningiomas associated with prolonged Depo-Provera usage.
Women who received two or more Depo-Provera injections and were later diagnosed with a brain tumor, such as a meningioma, may be eligible to pursue legal action. Depo Provera lawsuits assert that Pfizer and other manufacturers failed to adequately warn users of the risks, negligently designed the drug, and did not conduct sufficient safety testing before and after bringing it to market.
Lawsuits are being filed in the Depo-Provera MDL in the Northern District of Florida. Judge Casey Rogers, the same judge from the 3M Combat Arms Earplug Litigation, was selected as the judge to preside over the Depo-Provera MDL. Our firm represented thousands of individuals who suffered hearing loss and/or tinnitus from 3M Earplug usage in the 3M Earplug MDL. Based on years of experience in the 3M MDL, we understand how Judge Rogers operates.
We are currently reviewing and accepting Depo-Provera claims nationwide, and are beginning to file viable cases in the MDL.
